Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky lays down small missile ship of Project 22800

Tatarstan-based Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky (a company of AK BARS HOLDING) says it laid down a small missile ship of Project 22800 on 26 February 2019. The ship has been named Tucha by the order of the Navy Commander-in-Chief.

When speaking at the keel-laying ceremony, Vladimir Tryapichnikov, Head of RF Navy Ship Building Directorate, emphasized that Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky is currently the only company in Russia building large series of warships.

Designed by the Central Marine Design Bureau Almaz, Project 22800 small missile ships have a displacement of some 800 tons and a speed of over 30 knots. The small missile ships are to be armed with a system of high-precision missile weapons and modern artillery systems. Among these ships’ advantages is their high manoeuvrability, increased seaworthiness, as well as architecture of superstructures and hulls made on the base of low reflectivity technologies. These ships are able to perform tasks in the offshore zone at distances of some 3,000 miles from stationing sites.

Tatarstan-based OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky specializes in the construction of warships and high-speed passenger vessels. The enterprise is managed by AK BARS HOLDING.
